Yes Men unfair to troglodytes
In their press release, the Yes Men said, “The Chamber’s position against climate legislation is completely troglodytic,” said Bichlbaum. “The rest of the world sees the need for urgent action on the climate. The rest of the world’s rich countries have pledged large emissions reductions. With scientists saying if we don’t reduce carbon emissions, then sooner or later we’re doomed, the Chamber represents corporate America at its most backwards.”
Bichlbaum should know better.
“Troglodyte” is derived from ancient Greek meaning “cave dwellers,” probably based on groups living on the African Red Sea coast.
The cave dwellings are actually low-carbon solutions for living in an environment with extremes of heat and cold, and are actually very energy-efficient homes.
Rather than being disparaged, and likened to the corporate shills at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Yes Men should highlight and celebrate the proud, carbon-neutral livestyle of the troglodytes.
